More Than Three Quarters of Small Business Owners Say AI Makes Them More Productive, But Most Need More Guidance

Today, we’re releasing findings from a new YouGov study we commissioned of almost 4,000 small business owners across nine APAC markets: Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Japan and Hong Kong, on how AI is helping them grow, compete with larger businesses and reach customers beyond their borders. AI adoption is already broad, with 84% of surveyed small business owners currently using AI, 76% reporting a positive impact on productivity and 71% reporting a positive impact on revenue or sales over the past 12 months. Small business owners also report AI helps tackle two significant challenges facing small businesses: limited resources and limited time. Owners say AI is helping small businesses compete. Across the nine markets, four in five (80%) owners agree AI helps small businesses compete more effectively with larger companies, and the same proportion say it makes starting a business easier. 83% agree AI enables small businesses to do things that previously required significantly more money or resources. And, they say the time saved is going back into the business.

Introducing Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full: Frontier Models for Agents

Fourteen months ago, we began an overhaul of our AI efforts, and in that time we’ve gone from rebuilding our foundations to pushing the frontier. Today, Meta is introducing the Muse Wonder series with Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, our most capable models to date, built on the groundwork we laid with Muse Spark. The models deliver state-of-the-art performance on personal and professional agentic tasks. Built for Real World Needs Whether the job is navigating an insurance claim, understanding a lease, or making sense of someone’s finances, a model has to interpret the information in front of it and work through the problem. Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full bring that capability to expert domains including law, finance, and health, along with frontier coding performance for people building everything from a game to an app for a new business. Real work also unfolds over time. That’s why we’ve built our new models to have Active Memory, the ability to carry what matters to you across conversations and bring back the details that are relevant to the task at hand.

Debunking the Biggest Data Center Myths

The world of technology is full of myths and legends. That’s understandable when most of the technology we rely on operates completely behind the scenes. Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot of talk around data centers, and many of the “facts” I’m hearing aren’t quite as true as some people believe. Today, I want to address some of these myths, not to create division or try to win an argument, but instead to inform and clear up some misconceptions that are quite common within the conversation of technology and AI at the moment. Myth #1: Data Centers Use Too Much Water and Take it Away From the Public Water is a huge topic of discussion around data centers at the moment, but very few people actually know how data centers use water for cooling. I can’t speak for all data centers, but I can speak about the two types of Meta data centers that I have visited over the past few months. A traditional air-cooled compute data center: These facilities use water for only a few months of the year to cool down air as it passes into the building.

Santosh explained why Meta is more than just a software company, how AI is different from any other technology, and why data centers are essential for building AI. They’ll cover questions like: How does Meta power its AI infrastructure? What is a gigawatt of energy? How does Meta decide what kind of chips to use for their data centers? Why is Meta so focused on AI right now? What are the benefits of building your own data centers? and more. Measures We’ve Put in Place to Fight Child Exploitation

Keeping young people safe on our apps is among the most important work we do, and it never stops. Sophisticated bad actors who try to exploit children online don’t stay in one place. These determined predators move across different platforms, and change their tactics to evade detection. Staying ahead requires constant adaptation and that is why we are continuously evolving our tools, sharing signals across the industry, and reporting offenders to law enforcement so they can be held accountable. How We Responded Whenever we detect or are made aware of potential child sexual abuse or exploitative content on our platform, we investigate it. If the content violates our policies, we remove it and in cases where the signals indicate malicious sharing by predators, we disable the accounts behind it. We then report the content to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in line with applicable law. But we haven’t stopped there. We have been doing strategic network disruptions on child safety for years – our team of experts including former FBI investigators who conduct manual investigations to proactively uncover, remove and report networks of predatory accounts.

The Biggest News From Connect 2026

We’re building personal AI agents for everyone and a whole family of devices that let you connect with them from anywhere. Bringing Muse to AI Glasses We launched Muse, a first-of-a-kind personal AI agent that proactively helps you meet your goals, earlier this month. At Connect, we announced we’re bringing Muse to our AI glasses in the coming months, so you’ll soon have easy access to your personal agent wherever you go. Mark Zuckerberg showed how Muse keeps getting better with new features, connectors, and a state-of-the-art model that brings your Muse to life. Muse on AI glasses: You’ll soon be able to say your agent’s name, and Muse can act on what you’re looking at, so you won’t have to describe what’s in front of you. Ask about a product on a shelf, a flier on a wall, or a long list of school supplies, and Muse can take action. Voice mode: Talking to an agent as capable as Muse is different from voice chat with an assistant. You can have a long, in-depth conversation, and Muse gets work done in the background while you’re still talking.

Cycling and public transit directions. Available starting later this month in the US and Canada. Navigation that actually sounds like a person. Meta Ray-Ban Display will use the world in front of you rather than street signs in turn-by-turn walking directions, so they’ll tell you to turn left at the yellow house, for example, rather than “turn left at Third Street.” https://about.fb.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/01_Cycle_Transit_Nav.mp4 Show Your Face With Hologram Glasses are great for hands-free calls, but sometimes you want the person on the other end to be able to see you. Closed-Loop Cooling Explained: The Plumbing Behind Meta’s AI

Powerful AI servers generate so much heat that traditional air cooling is no longer sufficient. Meta instead uses a closed cooling system where a mixture of water and glycol circulates through the servers' hardware, releases heat through heat exchangers, and is reused in a loop — the same fluid can be used for up to a decade. This system uses much less water than one might think (less than a couple of restaurants per year), takes up less physical space than air cooling, and Meta shares this technology openly with the industry through its Open Compute Project.
