NVIDIA to Acquire Hugging Face

NVIDIA köper Hugging Face för cirka 12,9 miljarder dollar. Hugging Face är en plattform där över 18 miljoner utvecklare, forskare och skapare delar mer än 3 miljoner AI-modeller, 500 000 datasets och 1 miljon applikationer — och över 200 000 företag använder den.
NVIDIA lovar att Hugging Face förblir en öppen plattform där utvecklare kan välja vilka modeller, ramverk, molnleverantörer och hårdvara de vill använda, och att Nvidias egen hårdvara inte kommer att krävas. NVIDIA säger att öppna AI-modeller ger starkt-ups, universitet och små företag möjligheten att bygga på avancerade AI-förmågor utan att träna modeller från början.
Hugging Face will remain an open platform for the entire AI ecosystem. Developers will choose the models they want, the frameworks they want, the clouds and inference service providers they want and the computing platforms they want.
